Impact Investing Roundtable 2024
Back

The 2024 Impact Investing Roundtable, organised by Temasek and CIIP, focused on Ensuring Climate Resilience and an Inclusive Transition in Emerging Markets. The event explored how sectors such as energy, mobility, the built environment, and agriculture can transition in ways that uplift communities and improve livelihoods.

As a partner event of Ecosperity Week 2024, the roundtable brought together nearly 180 investors, asset managers, companies, government representatives, and ecosystem builders from more than 20 countries. Discussions centred on business models that benefit people and the planet, impact measurement and management, and the need for collective action.

Programme highlights included panels on climate investing in emerging markets and on enabling SMEs to build inclusive and sustainable supply chains, followed by small-group discussions on practical pathways for collaboration.

CIIP CEO Dawn Chan noted that SMEs face rising pressures from climate risk, regulation, and customer expectations, and risk losing opportunities if they do not adapt. She also called for a systems-wide approach to help SMEs strengthen their resilience.

To support this, CIIP launched a report with PwC Singapore on how FMCG-sector SMEs in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore are responding to sustainability challenges and how their supply chain can be strengthened. A panel with Mars, GRST, TAT WIN, and HSBC examined SME financing and ESG challenges and how large companies can support suppliers and open new market opportunities.

The Roundtable continues to serve as a key platform for asset owners, managers, entrepreneurs, and partners to share insights and advance impactful solutions.
