CIIP was pleased to support MYSC, Extra-Mile Ventures, and JLIN LLC for both the Global Impact Chapter 2024 and B Corp Investor Gathering held in Singapore. CIIP co-hosted the inaugural Global Impact Chapter with MYSC in 2023. 

CIIP’s Sue-Ann Huang and Akhil Khurana participated in the B Corp Investor Retreat, the first of its kind for B Corp-certified investors and B Corp ecosystem builders. They provided insights into how investors could foster deeper engagement with stakeholders to drive social and environmental impact, as well as foster a more collaborative and supportive community. 

At the Global Impact Chapter 2024, CIIP’s Jonathan Chan moderated a panel titled ‘Impact Ecosystem in Southeast Asia’, providing an overview of the impact investing and business sector in the region alongside Vikas Arora, Chief Impact Investing Officer at AVPN, Mellissa Ng, Director and Head of Stakeholder and Investor Relations at Bintang Capital Partners, and Trai Sasatavadhana, CEO and Chairman at Chaotic Ventures. Jonathan outlined the plurality and diversity of Southeast Asia, its rising middle class, and the world's remaining US$3 trillion funding gap in achieving the SDGs. 

The discussion addressed key investment areas such as the green and digital economies, the increasing role of blended finance in deals in Southeast Asia, the impending generational transfer of wealth and how that will strengthen support for impact investing, a rising interest among LPs and regulators in impact investing in Malaysia, as well as pathways to commercialisation for impactful research out of universities in Thailand.
