CIIP’s Hiu Chii Fen spoke at the Sustainable Finance Initiative’s (SFi) Impact Summit in Hong Kong, joining a panel on Reimaging the Power of Capital. The session brought together impact leaders to discuss how catalytic capital can accelerate meaningful, long-term outcomes.
Chii Fen and fellow panelists shared how catalytic capital can unlock larger investments, open new markets, strengthen impact measurement, and drive systems-level change. This can be done whether through funding, strategic guidance, or capacity building. At CIIP, this thinking underpins the Amplifier programme, which pairs catalytic capital with hands-on support to help impact ventures scale.
One example is Amplifier mentee Mayani, which used the S$250K recoverable grant to attract over US$1 million in follow-on investment and build pre-cooling facilities in the Philippines. This has helped reduce food loss and strengthened local agri-fisheries supply chains.
